White Tanks

On a Monday that both of us had off we decided to go hiking at the White Tanks which are about 30 minutes from our house. We took all 3 dogs and trekked up the mountain. We stopped and had lunch near the top and then headed back down. Once at the bottom we decided to take another short trail. On that trail I caught 2 snakes! I was so excited. The first one was not very happy. It was curled up into an "S" shaped ready to strike. He was also hissing up a storm. He even struck at me once when I was trying to maneuver him. Good thing it wasn't a rattler. It was only a gopher snake. We also saw another snake...I'm not sure what it was. It was mostly white with black stripes down its back. I wish I had gotten pictures of the snakes. Over all it was a fun day. My hubby is so cute!
