Party Dress

This post is for my Aunt Linda (whom I love so much!) She always likes to see the crafts that I do. This is what I did tonight. Tony's cousins little girl is turning 1 so I thought a party dress was a necessary gift. It was super easy to make so I will share the details. I just sewed a piece of elastic together to make the waistband then cut strips of tulle and ribbon or whatever else you want to use. Depending on the size of the girl it is, you adjust the length of the strips to make it the right length. Mine is for a 1 year old so I did about 21 inch strips. Then you go around and double knot each strip to the elastic. Tada. Then go around and alternate the colors you want. I think I did 4 different colors of tulle and just made a pattern with them.
Then for the flower I just cut about 10 circles in the tulle that I wanted then scrunched them up and held them with tweezers and melted the edges with a tea light. (that's what gives it the scrunchy texture) Then I just layered the circles and stuck a brad in the center and added a clip...Viola!
