Valentine's Snow Trip

For Valentine's weekend, my amazing husband arranged a lovely little snow trip for our family. We started our weekend off with a trip to my sister, Tracy's house in Ash Fork, AZ. It was so much fun to visit with them and let the cousins all play; especially to dog pile on Brooke!
We made it to our cabin Saturday afternoon and unloaded then set out to enjoy the snow. The roads were awful getting to Flagstaff due to a blizzard that was hitting the whole weekend. We drove about 30 miles the whole way from Ash Fork to Flagstaff so it took at least twice as long as it should've. My awesome hubby showing off his mad snowboarding skills!
Liam loved the snow! He loved snow ball fights especially. This is inside our cute little cabin that we rented for the weekend. It was to cutest little string of cabins ever and I think we may just make this a yearly trip.
This sort of shows how bad it was snowing. It seriously snowed hard the whole first 2 days we were there and got about 10 inches of snow, but finally stopped the morning we needed to leave so that was good.
We had a little heater in our cabin and roasted marshmallows and made smores every night.
Sledding was so much fun. The little resort we stayed at had a perfect hill for sledding that was the best! We didn't even need to go anywhere the whole weekend if we didn't want to.
 Making snow angels.
He loved the snow and just wanted to play in it 24/7
He was so exhausted by the end of the first day that he conked during scripture reading.

Or little snowman that Liam designed and gave the very unique name of "Frosty the Snowman"
We went to the Lowell Observatory and learned all about Pluto and did you know that Pluto was discovered by the astronomers right there at the Lowell Observatory?
We also went on a horse drawn sleigh ride!
This was so fun, but would've been even more fun if it hadn't been snowing so hard! We had about 2 inches of snow fall on us during the sleigh ride. These horses were so pretty and absolutely enormous. Their hips were about 3 feet higher than my head! They were so big!
After our sleigh ride we went into the barn to a nice warmed up tent and got served a delicious cowboy dinner with steak, potatoes, and baked beans. It was so fun!
I think after this weekend we had officially started a Mills family winter tradition!
