Today's weather was awesome, so we had to get out and enjoy it because this sort of weather will be over very soon! We decided to go for a picnic and a hike at the Gila River. Right near there is the Phoenix International Raceway which this mountain looks down over. As we were starting to hike we heard some cars on the track; LUCKY US, so we pretty much ran up the mountain and it is fairly steep. I just about died! I felt like I was going to throw up, but we made it to the top quickly and we were so happy that the racers were still practicing! It was so cool and heavenly for a little boy. There were 2 cars that were just speeding around the track. I don't know if they were testing out new tires or gadgets or what, but they would do a few laps then go back to the pit area then go back and race again. It was very cool and very loud especially as they came out of the turns. Cool experience!
It was crazy windy while we were at the top.
Liam loved this rock because it had a smiley face. |
I decided to try a tip I learned on Pinterest on how to teach your kid
to ride a bike. It said to take the training wheels off and then the
actual pedals themselves off and let them learn to balance by just pushing
along with their feet. We tried that the day before and after 15 minutes
or so he was ready to try with the pedals on. We gave him a little push
and off he went! He is so awesome! It took him a few tries to get the
hang of pedaling hard to keep going, but he did so well. We each took
turns riding around the block with him. We are so proud! We need to
practice more on getting started by himself, but he is just so awesome
and proud of himself. We went to store and let him pick out some special
popsicles to celebrate! Love this boy, but want him to stop growing up
so fast!
